04 - Adam’s Peak – Nallathanniya
Adam’s Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is a 2,243-meter conical mountain rising in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, about 150 km east of Colombo. At its summit lies a sacred footprint believed by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians to hold religious significance. This iconic site draws thousands of pilgrims during the season (December to May), with locals climbing through the night to witness the magical sunrise from the peak. The trail from Nallathanniya spans roughly 6 kilometers and takes 5–6 hours to ascend. Though crowded in season, many also climb during the off-season for a quieter yet equally breathtaking sunrise experience. It’s a journey of devotion, endurance, and awe-inspiring natural beauty
